THE HISTORY OF 1647

1647-restaurant-altitude_alpes_la_clusaz.jpg

| SINCE 1954

Altitude 1647 was founded by the Masson family in 1954.
For many years, it was perched on Plateau de Beauregard, at the top of the ski slopes, welcoming nature lovers to its hotel bar restaurant.

While maintaining its original family spirit, it reopened its doors in the summer of 2021 under the name 1647, with a new management and a full makeover, to offer a fresh and innovative dining experience.

THE BAR

The bar boasts a 7-meter-long counter and offers a wide variety of beers, wines, cocktails, and spirits.
Highlight: it connects to our terrace for a speedier service!

THE BAR EXTENSION

With its 180-degree view of the Plateau de Beauregard, you can enjoy the slopes during Winter season and the mountain pastures during Summer season.
This space is equipped with electrical and USB sockets so you can stay connected.
Highlight: the sunset!

THE FLOOR

With as little separations as possible, it allows the penetration of natural light and gives access to the view from the inside.
Our semi-open kitchen perfumes the space and creates more closeness with our team.
Highlight: all furniture can be moved to provide a personalized layout upon request.

THE TERRACE

At 1647 meters above sea level, it dominates the Plateau de Beauregard and offers a 180-degree panoramic view of the Aravis mountain range. It overlooks the ski slopes in the Winter season and the mountain pastures in the Summer season, providing both excitement and tranquility under beautiful sunshine.
Highlights: the sunrise and sunset views are spectacular!

THE SNACK BAR

Located at the arrival of the Beauregard cable-car, it awaits you at the top of the slopes and offers take-away fast food.
It is only open during the winter season, from 9 am to 5 pm

THE FACADE

Dressed in traditional tavaillons from 1954, the building reminds us of its history.
The terrace can be fully utilized in the evenings thanks to its lighting.

| OUR MASCOT

Edgar de Beauregard

The iconic eagle of 1647, designed specifically to bring joy to children.

Our mascot is an eagle, just like our logo. We chose a bird to symbolize well-being, which is a core value of the 1647 concept due to our eco-responsible approach. The eagle embodies the connection between man and spirit, and soars freely above the Beauregard plateau.

Many of you proposed the name for our beloved mascot during the 2020 naming contest. We chose it in honor of Edgar Grospiron and to represent our 100% local mission. Plus, it rhymes nicely with Beauregard!

Keep your eyes peeled, as our mascot often stops by the snack bar or our panoramic terrace to greet children.
